Cortez - Underground Operations Planner
Responsibilities
- Handles routine purchasing for all UG Operation Parts, Tools and Safety items.
- Approves and reviews all bin stock invoicing.
- Issues out bolts, plates, wire ground support from monthly work orders.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent.
- End of month accruals, works with Engineering department to report all end of month costs.
- Tracks 3 month/ yearly forecast purchasing items in bulk to save on cost per foot.
- Processes all vendor creation and maintenance documents that workflow into purchasing, either approving or rejecting documents based on business practices, and informs end-users of required data and specifications.
- Participates as a member in project work and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Participates and contributes to safety and environmental practices to achieve an increased level of safety awareness.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and work with Strategic Sourcing on key spend categories.
- Develops and maintains good relationships with suppliers and ensures terms and conditions of agreements are fulfilled.
- Sources and assesses suppliers in conjunction with the members of the sourcing and procurement team.
Qualifications
- Two (2) to four (4) years of directly related maintenance planning, inventory analytics and warehousing experience or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
- Mining experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Works independently with minimal supervision preferred.

About the Role
We are looking for an Underground Operations Planner at our Cortez operation. The successful candidate is responsible for affecting management of consumable supplies for the operation, including inventory management, monthly cost analyses, contract administration and providing guidance during the annual budgeting process.
