Corrosion Technician (A and B Acceptable)

Responsibilities

• Work safely and promote a safe work ethic.
• Perform and interpret required readings (annual test points, isolated services, casings, bonds, foreign crossings) in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
• Create remediation work orders (install anodes, clear short, install insulator, repair/replace test station) in a timely manner.
• Follow through with necessary departments to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain cathodic protection at franchise gate stations by working closely with peers from other utilities.
• Conduct QA checks on readings performed by others.
• Provide corrosion control-related support to other departments as needed for maintenance/repair.
• Participate in regulatory audits to ensure success.
• Install and/or replace anodes by mechanical means.

Requirements

• Past experience with use of hand tools.
• Gas Pipeline experience.
• Troubleshooting experience.
• 2 years field work of pipeline cathodic protection/corrosion control.
• Successful completion of all current Operational Qualifications.
• Frequent local travel with occasional out-of-town requirements.
• Valid driver's license.
• NACE CP1 Certification.

Education & Experience

Past experience with use of hand tools.
Gas Pipeline experience.
Troubleshooting experience.
2 years field work of pipeline cathodic protection / corrosion control.
Successful completion of all current Operational Qualifications.
