Corrections Officer MRCC
About the role
The North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking Correctional Officers to join the team at the Missouri River Correctional Center (MRCC). This role plays a critical role in maintaining safety, building professional relationships, and supporting positive change within correctional facilities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and interact with residents using dynamic security principles focused on communication, observation, accountability, and pro-social role modeling.
- Work as part of a high-functioning team while helping maintain a safe and structured environment for staff, residents, and the communities we serve.
- Respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- At least two years of experience in corrections, security, law enforcement, military service, or a related field; OR at least 60 college credits
Qualifications
- No prior corrections experience is required. The ND DOCR provides paid training and ongoing professional development.
