CORRECTIONAL SERGEANT

This is a 12-month Limited Term, Full-Time position located in Chowchilla, Madera County. The role may be extended to 24 months or become permanent. Position numbers: JC-528539, 381-207-9659-XXX. Main communication for this position will be through email.

About the Department

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) enhance public safety and promote successful community reintegration through education, treatment, and active participation in rehabilitative and restorative justice programs.

• Facilitate successful reintegration of individuals in our care back to their communities equipped with tools to be drug-free, healthy, and employable.
• Provide education, treatment, rehabilitative, and restorative justice programs in a safe and humane environment.

Location

Central California Women’s Facility is located in the Central San Joaquin Valley, approximately 30 miles north of Fresno.

• Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
• If meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, include unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
• Foreign education must be verified for U.S. equivalency through a credential evaluation service (e.g., NACES).
• New hires must submit to a background investigation, Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment, with annual testing thereafter.
• Do not include confidential information (e.g., SSN, birthdate, driver’s license number unless required) on application documents.

Pay

• Classification: Correctional Sergeant
• Salary Ranges:
  • $43.21 - $54.34 per hour
  • $47.22 - $59.38 per hour (alternate range)
  • $8,184.00 - $10,935.00 per month
• New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
