Position located at Peace Officer Selection and Employee Development – Office of Training and Professional Development (POSED – OTPD), Sacramento County.

About the location

  • Prepares cadets to become Correctional Officers through on-site institutional training
  • Provides specialized custody trainings for current CDCR staff to strengthen physical and mental skills
  • Campus-like setting

  • 20 minutes south of Elk Grove and/or 20 minutes north of Lodi

Requirements

  • Refer to the Minimum Requirements in the Class Specification for Correctional Sergeant
  • Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
  • If meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, include unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification; official transcripts may be required upon appointment
  • Foreign education must be verified for U.S. equivalency through NACES
  • New hires must undergo a background investigation, Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment; annual TB testing thereafter
  • Supporting documents should be submitted in PDF format
  • CDCR/CCHCS utilizes E-Verify to confirm identity and employment authorization (www.e-verify.gov)

Special Requirements

  • Do not include confidential information (e.g., Social Security Number, birthdate, student ID, driver’s license number unless required, examination results, marital status, age) on any submitted documents
  • Confidential information on the first page of electronically submitted applications will be automatically redacted

Pay

  • $7,946.00 - $9,992.00 per month (Range A)
  • $8,184.00 - $10,292.00 per month (Range J)
  • $8,696.00 - $10,935.00 per month (Range New to State candidates; hired at minimum salary of classification or minimum of alternate range)

Schedule

  • Permanent, Full Time
  • In Office
