Correctional Security Guard - Part Time

About the role

A Correctional Security Guard - Part Time position is available in Columbia, SC. This role involves providing customer service, responding to incidents, conducting patrols, and supporting order at a government corrections location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professional communication with staff, visitors, and/or the public.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and movement within assigned areas, verify credentials when required, and document security-related incidents, observations, and/or policy violations.
• Support order at the location by following post instructions, communicating with site personnel, and assisting with security-related protocols during routine operations and/or emergency situations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
