Correctional Security Guard
About the role
Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a government corrections location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors through strong communication and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and other security-related policies at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting supervisors, medical personnel, and/or public law enforcement when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or authorizations, and document daily activities, observations, and incident details in required reports.
- Support emergency response activities, follow post orders, and communicate clearly with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns and/or operational needs.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
