CORRECTIONAL CASE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST II Reentry Specialist

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. Position duties

• A Correctional Case Management Specialist II assesses and evaluates the personal and criminal history of adult inmates to recommend a security level, and develops and monitors appropriate work and educational programs.
• Employees in this classification provide direct reentry services to incarcerated individuals on the 273-day list; develop individualized transition reentry release plans; coordinate reentry programs within the facility; connect incarcerated individuals to community-based services; prepare individualized resource plans that meet the requirements of the discharge plan for release of the incarcerated individual; coordinate monthly group-exit orientations; conduct reentry assessment interviews; provide referrals to internal and external stakeholders, as well as other disciplines; participate in a multi-disciplinary team meetings to secure needed transitional services; establish community partnerships; engage community-based providers to participate in on-site facility resource fairs; coordinate assigned facility Reentry Resource Fairs; input data obtained during assessment evaluations into shared database systems (OCMS and SharePoint) within the required time frame (in accordance with applicable guidelines and directives).
• Employees in this classification also participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to secure needed transitional services; establish community partnerships; engage community-based providers to participate in on-site facility resource fairs; coordinate assigned facility Reentry Resource Fairs; input data obtained during assessment evaluations into shared database systems (OCMS and SharePoint) within the required time frame (in accordance with applicable guidelines and directives).

Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Three years of experience in assessing inmates' security risk and inmates' program needs for the purpose of determining correct security classifications and developing program plans.
• Candidates may substitute one year of experience as a Correctional Officer for one year of the required experience.
• Candidates may substitute one year of experience as a Correctional Dietary Officer, Correctional Maintenance Officer or Correctional Supply Officer for one year of the required experience.
• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in correctional classifications or correctional specialty codes in the criminal justice field of work at the rate of two years of military experience for one year of the required experience.
• Completion of Correctional training with the DPSCS Academy.
• Experience providing direct Reentry Services to incarcerated individuals and prepared individualized resource plans that meet the requirements of the discharge plan for release.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien status.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• A completed background investigation.
• An oral interview.
• A physical examination.
