What We Want
The SOMS 111 Instructor for the School of Military Sciences will be teaching undergraduate leadership courses. The instructor will teach undergraduate courses and prepare syllabi, course materials and delivery with instruction in a classroom setting. This is a temporary, part-time position.
Responsibilities
- Teaches undergraduate leadership courses.
- Prepares syllabi, course materials and delivery with instruction in a classroom setting.
- Participates in intensive classroom instruction and practical exercises.
- Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure engagement.
- Effectively teaches Texas A&M University core values of Excellence, Leadership, Loyalty, Integrity, Respect and Selfless service.
- Instills a commitment to the Corps of Cadets core values of Honor, Courage, Integrity, Discipline and Selfless Service.
- Provides tutoring and grade classroom assignments.
- Maintains class related records and assesses coursework.
- Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and ability to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in business, management, social sciences, leadership education or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PREFERRED: Masters.
- Teaching experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Knowledge of potential applications to pedagogy, programming and service activity, nonprofit organization structure and operations.
