About the role

As a software engineer, you will transform Goldman Sachs by applying your technical expertise as part of embedded engineering teams working directly with business partners such as trading, sales, asset management, banking, and finance. Alternatively, join core engineering teams to elevate all businesses by building reliable, scalable platforms for data engineering, machine learning, networking, developer tooling, collaboration, and more.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance software solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including trading, sales, asset management, and finance, to build and automate business solutions.
• Work with core engineering teams to create platforms for data engineering, machine learning, networking, and developer tooling.
• Integrate open source software, databases, and cloud solutions to solve complex business problems.
• Apply object-oriented or functional analysis and design principles to create efficient, maintainable code.
• Solve problems using data-driven decision-making and analytical skills.
• Work in a global team environment, managing multiple stakeholders and tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 1+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise in at least one compiled language (e.g., Java, C++) or interpreted language (e.g., Python), with experience in concurrency and memory management.
• Professional experience with responsive web development, including React, Angular, Redux, and advanced JavaScript proficiency.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and make data-driven decisions.
• Comfortable working in a global team, multitasking, and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for problem-solving and product development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge or interest in trading technologies, particularly in the front-office of a trading organization.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
