Job Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Manage corporate tax engagements from planning through completion while meeting budget expectations.
- Supervise, train, and mentor senior associates, associates, and interns on tax projects.
- Perform staff performance assessments and act as in-charge when needed.
- Review corporate tax returns prepared by staff and recommend improvements for accuracy and tax-saving opportunities.
- Lead primary reviews of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements, including preparation and audit support.
- Conduct research and provide guidance on complex tax matters.
- Use tax software systems to prepare and process returns.
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS, state, and other tax authorities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across all levels of client management.
- Develop a deep understanding of client operations and business objectives to enhance engagement quality.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing or prospective client relationships.
- Attend ongoing professional development and training programs.
- Maintain strict professional standards and confidentiality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Active CPA license for PA (or reciprocity) or JD/active law license.
- Four to seven years of progressive corporate tax compliance and/or consulting experience.
- Corporate tax experience supporting large, multi-state, national, or global companies.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and experience in provision preparation, review, and audit support.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, federal and state corporate income tax laws, and related regulations.
- Broad experience in statutory income tax compliance, state and local taxation, international taxation, and transfer pricing.
- Recent public accounting experience with a Top 15 accounting firm.
- Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to work in a hybrid schedule with at least two office days per week.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP).
- Professional services industry experience.
- Stable career history without frequent short-term moves.
