About the role

The Consultant (Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Assessment, Reporting Framework and Roadmap) will support the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) in strengthening its CSR and sustainability practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability-related practices across UNJSPF, identifying organizational strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review relevant policies, governance frameworks, strategies, programmes, and existing CSR-related documentation to establish a baseline of current practices.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and targeted consultations across business units to collect qualitative and quantitative information on existing CSR initiatives.
  • Analyze findings and benchmark UNJSPF's CSR-related practices against comparable international organizations and relevant industry standards to identify leading practices and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare a comprehensive baseline CSR report summarizing existing initiatives, governance arrangements, available data, achievements, key observations, and identified gaps.
  • Develop practical recommendations, priority initiatives, and a multi-year CSR roadmap to strengthen the organization's corporate social responsibility and sustainability approach.
  • Design a structured CSR reporting framework, including governance processes, reporting methodology, key performance indicators (KPIs), and a reusable reporting template to support future annual CSR reporting.
  • Develop standardized documentation, reporting tools, and supporting materials to facilitate consistent collection, monitoring, and reporting of CSR-related information.
  • Present assessment findings, recommendations, and proposed roadmap to UNJSPF stakeholders, incorporating feedback into final deliverables.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field is required.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in CSR, sustainability, ESG, or related advisory work, including organizational assessments, benchmarking, gap analysis, and development of strategic recommendations and roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing CSR, sustainability, ESG, or similar organizational reports, disclosures, or strategic assessments.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder engagement, workshops, interviews, and cross-functional consultations to gather organizational information.
  • Demonstrated experience developing reporting frameworks, methodologies, templates, dashboards, or tools that support ongoing monitoring and annual reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, facilitation, communication, and report-writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into practical recommendations.
  • Experience working with international organizations, pension funds, public institutions, or other complex organizations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of internationally recognized CSR, ESG, sustainability, or corporate governance frameworks and reporting standards is desirable.

Pay

USD 4,900 – 7,800 (monthly)

Schedule

  • Expected duration: 4 months
  • Work location: New York, with flexible remote arrangements available. Preference will be given to candidates currently based in New York.
