Corporate Security Specialist
Position Summary
The Corporate Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and professional workplace by protecting employees, visitors, contractors, company assets, and facilities. Reporting to the Corporate Safety and Security Manager, this role serves as the primary onsite security resource for the assigned location while supporting a welcoming workplace experience.
Responsibilities
Manage facility access control, visitor registration, badge issuance, and credential verification.
Welcome employees, visitors, candidates, vendors, and contractors while delivering exceptional customer service.
Serve as the primary site reception contact by greeting guests, notifying hosts, coordinating visitor escorts, and supporting executive and VIP visitors.
Support new hire onboarding by greeting new employees, coordinating lobby pickup, issuing temporary credentials, and providing workplace orientation assistance.
Maintain employee and contractor access compliance and prevent unauthorized entry and tailgating.
Conduct routine interior rounds, inspect doors, lighting, IT rooms, emergency equipment, and other building security assets.
Support the badging process, CCTV, intrusion alarms, access control systems, and other security technologies.
Identify and report security risks, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and operational concerns.
Support corporate security operations for executive speaking engagements, industry events, and special activities in coordination with internal teams and external partners, as assigned.
Support corporate security with executive and event protection activities by assisting with advance planning, access control, arrival and departure coordination, crowd awareness, and site security coverage to help ensure executive safety and successful event execution.
Maintain a visible, professional security presence that enhances executive safety, deters potential issues, and supports a secure physical environment through prevention, situational awareness, coordination, de-escalation, risk reduction, and appropriate response.
Respond to site security incidents, medical emergencies, alarms, and workplace disturbances.
Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, emergency responders, and property management as required.
Assist with corporate security assessments, incident response, and other physical security activities to support a safe and secure environment.
Prepare timely and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
Support workplace safety initiatives, CPR and fire life safety programs, and security awareness activities.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and security standards.
Partner with the Corporate Facility Manager to coordinate maintenance requests, vendor access, workplace readiness, and building services.
Support deliveries, package pickups, and mail related operations.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of common areas through regular inspections and address identified issues with the cleaning service provider.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent required.
3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Valid State Security Officer License where applicable.
Experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military, facilities security, hospitality, workplace services, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge of physical security systems, access control, CCTV, visitor management, and emergency response procedures.
Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and workplace technology.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and work independently and collaboratively.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred.
