Corporate Security Officer - Part Time (Weekend)
About the role
As a Corporate Security Officer, you will provide a safe and secure work environment for Nassau associates, building tenants, visitors, contractors, and the public, while protecting Nassau’s physical assets. You will demonstrate an elevated level of professionalism at all times.
Responsibilities
- Act as an ambassador to the building, greeting associates, tenants, and visitors with a positive attitude.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company associates to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Keep the reception area organized and clean.
- Provide direction and assistance to associates, tenants, and visitors in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Ensure building and occupant safety by conducting interior and exterior tours, checking for security and safety issues, and resolving or reporting findings.
- Control access in and out of Nassau facilities by verifying IDs, monitoring sign-in sheets, issuing visitor badges, and operating CCTV systems.
- Operate computerized security, access control, and alarm systems; secure doors and activate/deactivate alarm systems.
- Respond to and investigate incidents, submitting security incident reports as necessary.
- Monitor and act on building HVAC alarms, fire system alarms, and elevator alarms, providing assistance and documentation.
- Respond to emergencies and follow all emergency procedures (e.g., evacuation, fire, medical, bomb threat, workplace violence).
- Manage incoming telephone calls professionally and transfer calls as needed.
- Be available to cover call-outs or extend hours during emergencies until relieved.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid State of Connecticut Guard Card.
- CPR / AED / Basic First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain certification after onsite training.
- 3–5 years of meaningful/verifiable experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Military, Emergency Management, Customer Service, or a related field.
- Knowledge of security access control, alarms, radio, CCTV, and public-address systems.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and respond to critical issues effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate data recording, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions.
- Ability to learn and follow SOP manuals and emergency procedures.
- Must attend and complete all required training.
- Must have weekend availability.

Pay
The base pay for this role is $22 per hour.
Schedule
- Saturday: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
- Sunday: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
