About the Role

The Corporate Partnerships Specialist in Rheumatology & Immunology is responsible for expanding industry-sponsored research by engaging faculty, identifying partnership opportunities, and facilitating collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with faculty, researchers, and institutional leadership in targeted specialties.
• Monitor industry trends, identify investment areas, and translate market intelligence into actionable strategies.
• Scout faculty research, develop corporate partnership concepts, and prepare tailored proposals.
• Coordinate meetings between faculty and industry partners to advance collaborations.
• Support deal negotiations, manage opportunity pipelines, and track progress using CRM tools.
• Serve as liaison between research units and JHTV teams, surfacing intellectual property and startup ideas.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to identify strategic opportunities and ensure resource alignment.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing and report on activity metrics.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (PhD, MD) in a related field with 7+ years of experience in business development, innovation, or research strategy.
• Fluency in science and business, with strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in market analysis, project management, and partner relationship management.
• Experience supporting academic-industry research collaborations and a working understanding of commercialization pathways.
