About the role

The role involves structuring, pricing, and executing trade receivables monetization transactions for Corporate and Investment Banking clients of Santander US. You will act as an advisor and first point of contact for clients exploring methods to optimize their working capital through receivables solutions. The position also includes negotiating legal documentation for new and existing transactions and leading the internal approval process with risk, middle office, and other support areas.

Responsibilities

  • Structure and execute receivable financing transactions.
  • Coordinate stakeholders both internal (CDD, Compliance, Risk, Legal, IT, Operations, Asset Distribution Team, etc.) and external (legal firms, insurers, brokers, etc.) to provide best-in-class service and seamless end-to-end execution, including client onboarding and due diligence.
  • Contribute to the development of Santander’s CIB receivable monetization capabilities.
  • Manage portfolio by working with the Trade Distribution team to optimize capital.
  • Grow business through developing new relationships and maintaining/enhancing existing revenue streams.
  • Ensure adherence to the Bank’s operating practices and governance guidelines.
  • Gather market intelligence for transactions, ensuring deal profitability aligns with the Bank’s capital models, and present transactions to relevant credit and capital committees.

Requirements

  • Expertise with receivables monetization structures such as factoring, repos, and securitization, including corresponding S&P methodologies.
  • Experience with legal execution and design of receivables purchase agreements or other legal documentation facilitating the sale, perfection, or financing of receivables/assets.
  • Understanding of the Uniform Commercial Code in the U.S. and legal perfection in various geographies.
  • Familiarity with EU and U.S. banking regulation, particularly regarding corporate and securitization exposures and risk-weighted asset calculations.
  • Knowledge of credit risk evaluation techniques for corporates and securitizations.
  • Strong financial statement and analysis skills (working capital cycle, cash flow forecasting, financial statement analysis, modeling).
  • Ability to explain IFRS and US-GAAP sale accounting.
  • Basic understanding of statistical concepts and modeling techniques (e.g., normal distributions, Monte Carlo simulation, linear regression).
  • High motivation, proactivity, and accomplished business origination skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in Structured Finance products or Receivable Finance, with a minimum of 3 years in each.
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the competitive market and the role of technology within Trade Finance.
  • Ability to develop relationships across geographical boundaries within the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • English language proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of other trade finance products (Payables, ECA, Doc Trade, Inventory Finance).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Sage.
  • Additional languages, particularly Spanish.
  • Previous exposure to operational Trade Finance support areas (Middle Office, Back Office, Legal, Risk).
  • Experience in the syndication of trade finance assets to buy-side investors.
  • Chartered Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $175,000.00 to $225,000.00 USD annually.
