About the role

The Corporate Insurance Manager is responsible for the administration and optimization of the organization's insurance portfolio. This role ensures that all corporate insurance policies adequately protect the institution's assets, operations, and personnel. The Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to assess risk exposures, manage claims, and support compliance with regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all corporate insurance programs, including but not limited to: Medical Professional Liability (MPL), General Liability (GL), Property, Cyber, Directors & Officers (D&O), Workers' Compensation, and Auto Liability.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate coverage levels and policy structures.
  • Lead annual insurance renewals and coordinate with brokers, underwriters, and legal counsel.
  • Identify and assess organizational risks and recommend insurance solutions.
  • Collaborate with clinical, legal, and operational teams to evaluate new programs, services, and contracts for insurance implications.
  • Manage and monitor insurance claims, working closely with third-party administrators, insurers, and internal departments. Maintain accurate records and ensure timely reporting and resolution of claims.
  • Develop and manage the insurance budget, including premium allocations and cost recovery strategies. Analyze insurance cost trends and provide financial impact assessments to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable insurance regulations and internal policies. Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on insurance coverage, claims activity, and risk trends.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with insurance brokers, carriers, and legal advisors. Educate internal stakeholders on insurance coverage, claims processes, and risk management best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of self‑insurance or captive insurance arrangements.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and implement alternative risk‑financing strategies that support the organization's broader financial and operational objectives.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to navigate complex compliance obligations, ensure organizational adherence to applicable laws, and proactively identify potential insurance or liability implications associated with regulatory changes.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment where timely, accurate insurance and risk‑management decisions are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or related field required.
  • 5 years of experience in corporate insurance or risk management required.
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or MBA preferred.
  • 2 years of hospital or other not for profit healthcare liability and corporate insurance experience preferred.
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred.

Pay

$134,800.00 - $146,100.00
