About the role

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Development professional to act as Tether’s representative across a Corp Dev portfolio. This individual will own the post-investment relationship with portfolio companies, identify and execute commercial and strategic synergies with Tether, provide governance and board-level support, and drive measurable value creation initiatives. The role sits at the intersection of corporate development, portfolio management, strategy, and operating execution.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Value Creation & Strategic Partnerships
    • Serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of strategic (majority) investments across multiple sectors and geographies.
    • Identify, develop, and execute commercial partnerships between portfolio companies and Tether business units.
    • Drive measurable strategic outcomes including revenue generation, customer acquisition, product integrations, distribution agreements, infrastructure partnerships, regulatory cooperation, and ecosystem expansion.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to founders and executive teams, helping them leverage Tether's network, resources, and global footprint.
    • Build and maintain a systematic value-creation framework, tracking strategic initiatives and measuring realized impact across the portfolio.
    • Coordinate introductions across Tether's operating businesses, executive leadership, customers, partners, regulators, and strategic stakeholders.
    • Support portfolio companies on strategic planning, organizational development, fundraising, market expansion, and major commercial initiatives.
  • Corporate Development & Strategic Execution
    • Evaluate strategic partnership opportunities, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and other transactions involving portfolio companies and the broader Tether ecosystem.
    • Develop strategic theses around emerging market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and industry trends.
    • Identify opportunities where portfolio companies can strengthen Tether’s long-term strategic positioning.
    • Support integration planning and execution for acquisitions, strategic investments, and partnership initiatives.
    • Provide regular market intelligence and strategic recommendations to Tether leadership regarding industry developments, competitive threats, and emerging opportunities.
  • Governance & Portfolio Oversight
    • Represent Tether as a board director, board observer, or shareholder representative where appropriate.
    • Provide governance oversight and ensure portfolio companies maintain strong operational, financial, and strategic discipline.
    • Review company performance, budgets, forecasts, fundraising plans, and key strategic decisions.
    • Support management teams through critical growth milestones including expansion initiatives, financings, acquisitions, and organizational scaling.
    • Monitor portfolio company performance and provide regular updates to senior leadership and the Investment Committee.
  • Portfolio Management
    • Maintain comprehensive oversight of portfolio company performance, strategic initiatives, and key risks.
    • Lead portfolio review processes, board preparation, KPI monitoring, and strategic reporting.
    • Support follow-on investment decisions, capital allocation recommendations, and liquidity planning.
    • Partner with investment teams to ensure continuity between investment underwriting and post-investment value creation.
    • Develop and maintain portfolio management frameworks, governance processes, and reporting systems that scale with the platform.
  • Investment Support
    • Assist investment professionals during diligence processes by evaluating strategic fit, value-creation opportunities, and post-investment operating plans.
    • Assess potential synergy opportunities prior to investment and develop actionable post-close execution plans.
    • Support transaction structuring and negotiation from a governance and strategic perspective.
    • Contribute to investment recommendations and Investment Committee materials where relevant.

Requirements

  • 7–15 years of experience in corporate development, private equity, growth equity, strategic investing, management consulting, operating leadership, or value creation roles.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with executive teams, boards, and founders of high-growth businesses.
  • Strong track record of driving commercial partnerships, strategic initiatives, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience managing portfolio companies, subsidiaries, business units, or strategic investments.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, board processes, and shareholder oversight.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior executives across multiple organizations.
  • Experience evaluating business models, growth strategies, competitive positioning, and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to operate independently in a highly entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, financial infrastructure, payments, digital assets, banking, software, AI, or adjacent technology sectors.
  • Prior board director or board observer experience.
  • Experience supporting transactions, strategic partnerships, integrations, or corporate development initiatives.
  • Background in venture capital, growth equity, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or operating leadership roles.
  • Existing relationships across founders, investors, financial institutions, regulators, and strategic partners.
