About the role
The Corporate Debt team represents arrangers, agents and lenders, private equity sponsors, borrowers, and issuers in the debt capital markets. They are consistently noted by Chambers USA as a “consistently terrific” team that is “invaluable because of the depth of expertise they bring.” The team works as a genuinely cross-disciplinary group, drawing on attorneys with experience across tax, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, health care, hospitality, litigation, securities, banking regulation, and REITs.
Responsibilities
- Advising arrangers, agents, lenders, sponsors, and borrowers across a broad range of financing transactions.
- Working on investment-grade and leveraged syndicated credit facilities, including cash flow credit facilities.
- Handling secured transactions, acquisition finance, dividend and other recapitalisations, and second lien financing.
- Serving clients on asset-based lending, mezzanine financing, and high-yield bond and other public debt transactions.
- Managing multiple transactions simultaneously from inception through to closing.
- Drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security documents, and ancillary transaction documentation.
- Working closely with partners and cross-disciplinary colleagues to deliver integrated advice on complex financing matters.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- Active bar admission in Georgia (or eligibility to waive in).
- 3–6 years’ experience in syndicated lending, secured transactions, and commercial finance transactions, including cash flow credit facilities.
- Experience in the private debt space is strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage multiple transactions efficiently and to a high standard.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to complex financing matters.
