Responsibilities
- Provide practical legal counsel with a focus on business processes and enhancements
- Collaborate with all business divisions to achieve key objectives
- Support the General Counsel on product development and technological innovations in AI
- Aid in legal matters related to data privacy and cybersecurity
- Offer strategic legal guidance on evolving AI, privacy regulations, and data governance
- Analyze regulatory frameworks and develop compliance strategies with stakeholders
- Work with compliance and business teams to enhance regulatory compliance and risk management strategies
- Ensure adherence to industry and government regulations in company policies
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- 5+ years of experience as an in-house counsel or private practice attorney focused on data privacy, cybersecurity, product development, and AI law
- Experience in a fast-paced technology company environment
- Familiarity with consumer financial services laws and the FTC regulations
- Preference for candidates with payment or financial services industry experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and contract review skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
- Collaborative approach with all organizational levels
- Proficient in Google software applications
- Strategic thinking with sound decision-making capabilities
