Corporate Counsel
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including NDAs, customer service agreements, vendor contracts, and real estate leases.
- Collaborate with outside counsel on legal matters as needed.
- Support the business divisions in day-to-day commercial transactions and operational needs.
- Aid in global and regional governance, risk assessment, and compliance programs, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and company policies.
- Conduct compliance training sessions for employees across different departments.
- Provide legal guidance on industry-specific issues, including maritime regulations (preferred but not required).
- Maintain organized records of legal documents and ensure timely updates to contract templates and policies.
- Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting the company’s operations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar or eligibility to be admitted as NJ in-house counsel.
- 2-5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in corporate law, commercial contracts, or related fields.
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Maritime industry experience is preferred but not required.

Pay
Compensation: 130K-150K
