Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate and interpret a variety of commercial contracts across all departments including supply and purchase agreements, service agreements, technology agreements, and distribution contracts.
- Provide proactive and practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders across procurement, supply chain, sales, IS, HR, Marketing, Finance and other departments.
- Build internal relationships and advise the business on legal risk and compliance issues, while working closely with the VP, DGC to ensure legal risks are appropriately identified, assessed and mitigated.
- Counsel on real estate transactions and documentation, including leases, acquisitions, construction, and asset management.
- Provide legal support for government contracting activities, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with government entities, and supporting compliance with federal, state, and local contracting requirements.
- Lead or contribute to the development, rollout and enforcement of global legal policies, procedures and best practices across Manitowoc.
- Collaborate closely with business leaders, regional team, and other functional areas to ensure legal guidance aligns with operational and strategic objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor and demonstrate leadership in driving a strong culture of compliance, integrity and business enablement.
- Build relationships with and coordinate with external legal counsel as needed.
- Seek continuous improvement opportunities within scope of responsibility, including developing training, or updating templates and processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal standards, and support investigations, audits, and responses to governmental inquiries.
- Support the legal team with additional commercial and corporate legal matters as needed.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-4 years of legal experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Licensed attorney with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Able to be admitted to practice in Wisconsin.
- Strong experience in commercial contract negotiation and drafting.
