Location type is Hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
Responsibilities
- Provides legal advice to business units throughout the Company as well as subsidiaries of NJR.
- Works with business units of the Company to negotiate and provide counseling in conjunction with various agreements including, without limitation, service, consulting, real estate, complex easements that require negotiation, software development/implementation, information technology, construction and engineering contracts and financial instruments.
- Maintains and updates contract templates, as necessary.
- Supports the Company’s artificial intelligence initiatives, including governance and implementation of artificial intelligence tools.
- Reviews advertising, marketing materials, press release and other customer-facing communications.
- Reviews, revises and drafts internal policies and procedures as necessary or requested.
- Supports and provides counseling in conjunction with non-litigation contractual/commercial disputes, as requested.
- Provides transactional support on complex transactions across the Company’s business units and complete other projects as assigned by the General Counsel.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey
- Minimum of 4 years' experience practicing law
- Experience with IT contracts and artificial intelligence preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
