Responsibilities
- Provide legal research and counsel on a broad range of compliance topics including Data Privacy, Sustainability, Product, Packaging, Trade, Certifications, and others.
- Work directly with cross-functional teams, experts, and leaders from across the company including those in engineering, marketing, sales, and operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements such as sell-side and buy-side supply and services agreements, SaaS and other tech transaction agreements, and more.
- Help build and maintain templates, playbooks, and other resources for legal processes and operations.
- Support IP and Litigation teams on an as needed basis.
- Help develop and deliver relevant, engaging, and practical trainings for Lutron employees at all levels of seniority.
Qualifications
- No prior expertise in Compliance or Commercial law required – but a willingness to learn is a must!
- 3–5 years of legal experience. Experience at a top-tier national or international law firm preferred.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar. J.D. from a top-tier law school preferred.
- Proven analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Must be able to synthesize complex facts and legal issues into short, business-oriented recommendations for non-legal stakeholders.
- Excellent research abilities with attention to precedent, detail, and practical application.
- Experience with companies in technology and/or manufacturing is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in technology (such as undergraduate major or minor in a STEM field) preferred but not required.
- Reliable, collaborative, and able to manage competing priorities.
