Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate owner contracts, subcontracts, design agreements, and purchase orders
- Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle—from RFP responses and preconstruction to post-construction warranty and claims
- Advises project teams on legal matters including change orders, claims, notices, and contract administration
- Collaborates with internal departments and external counsel to resolve legal issues and support business objectives
- Conducts legal research and prepares opinions and correspondence
- Participates in regulatory compliance efforts and risk mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5–7 years of experience in construction law and contract negotiation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across department
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new legal tech tools
