Confidential manufacturing company in the Kansas City metro area is seeking a Controller to report to the CFO and oversee all accounting, financial planning, and analysis.

About the role

The Controller will partner with functional leaders across the organization, focusing on accurate and timely accounting, proactive financial analysis, key performance indicators, continuous improvement, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting and financial operations in accordance with GAAP, including balance sheet and income statement management
• Oversee financial planning and analysis, payroll management, cash and liquidity management
• Conduct contract performance and pricing analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and company asset and risk management
• Utilize ERP systems and business intelligence tools to maximize financial visibility, accuracy, and efficiency
• Support timely and accurate quarterly reporting to external parties and the annual audit by an independent CPA firm

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Accounting
• CPA or CMA highly preferred
• MBA in Finance or Accounting a plus
• Minimum of 7 years in a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience as an accounting manager or plant controller highly preferred
• Experience implementing and managing ERP systems (major ERP platforms a plus)
• Experience with multiple currencies and multiple companies/locations highly preferred
• Strong work ethic, initiative, and commitment to execution
• Ability to communicate effectively across the organization, including senior management and external partners
• Highly experienced in Excel and database mining
• Strong analytical and presentation skills
• Potential to move into the CFO role within 7 years

Pay

$140,000 - $160,000
