About the role

The Corporate Controller is a senior finance leader overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury, and internal controls while partnering closely with the CFO.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a huge plus; 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent).

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated track record of managing full financial close cycles and consolidated U.S. GAAP financial reporting; hands-on expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition standards within construction, specialty contracting, or project-based environments; direct experience managing lender reporting, borrowing base certificates, covenant calculations, and credit facility compliance; experience designing, implementing, and maintaining systems of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR).

  • Preferred Qualifications: Public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm strongly preferred); prior experience leading finance/accounting operations within a private equity-backed company; hands-on experience supporting M&A transactions, including financial due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-merger integration; experience implementing/upgrading ERP systems and familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL); practical experience managing cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working with external tax advisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages, management accounts, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses for leadership and PE sponsors; oversee lender compliance, borrowing base certificates, credit facility reporting, and financial covenant calculations; support Board of Directors presentations, bank syndications, refinancing initiatives, and facility waiver/amendment processes.

  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and manage external audit engagements; prepare consolidated U.S. GAAP financial statements and executive management reporting packages; oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, treasury reconciliations, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

  • Establish and enforce accounting policies, chart of accounts, and a robust ICFR internal control framework; ensure full regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local tax filings and statutory reporting; direct cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and daily treasury operations alongside external tax advisors.

  • Recruit, mentor, and build a high-accountability accounting team focused on continuous improvement; partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Operations, and business unit leaders to inform strategic decisions; drive accounting automation, evaluate new financial technology, and lead ERP upgrades; execute M&A financial activities, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-merger integration.
