About the role
This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to partner closely with senior leadership, drive financial strategy, and lead a high-performing accounting organization during an exciting period of expansion. This position is ideal for a strategic finance leader who enjoys balancing executive-level planning with hands-on leadership of accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for all accounting and finance operations, including general accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end/year-end close.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, providing financial insight that supports operational and long-term business objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and other financial partners.
- Improve working capital through effective oversight of cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Drive financial process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and financial reporting tools that provide actionable business insights.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, business integrations, and other strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with operational leaders across multiple business units to improve financial performance and organizational effectiveness.
- Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and adherence to accounting best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Combination of public accounting and corporate accounting leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Previous experience serving as a Controller, Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance, or similar executive finance leader.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit management.
- Proven experience leading organizational growth, financial system implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience partnering with senior executives to influence strategic business decisions.
- Able to travel occasionally to regional business locations.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed recommendations.
- Experience with financial systems and processes, including ERP systems, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to financial reporting and internal controls.
