Corporate Communications Associate (PSSI/Acrisure Stadium)
About the role
The Corporate Communications Associate supports the planning and execution of corporate communications initiatives for Acrisure Stadium and the Pittsburgh Steelers. This entry-level role assists with content development, media relations, digital communications, event support, and day-to-day communications operations. The position reports to the Director of Corporate Communications.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, can write clearly and accurately, manage multiple priorities, and build effective working relationships. They are proactive, collaborative, eager to learn, and willing to contribute wherever needed in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, onsite, intern position with regular weekly office hours.
Responsibilities
- Corporate Communications
- Assist in drafting and coordinating communications materials, including newsletters, email communications, presentations, reports, and social media content.
- Support the development of communications for internal and external audiences that advance organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Help ensure messaging is clear, accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to gather information and support communications projects.
- Media Relations
- Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, statements, and other media materials.
- Support day-to-day media relations activities, including coordinating interviews, monitoring coverage, and preparing media reports.
- Maintain media contact databases and distribution lists.
- Assist with planning and executing press conferences, announcements, corporate events, and community initiatives.
- Provide on-site communications support and coordinate media logistics for stadium and organizational events.
- Social Media & Digital Communications
- Support the execution of Acrisure Stadium's social media and digital communications efforts.
- Draft social media copy, coordinate content assets, and collaborate with the content team on campaigns and storytelling.
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date website content.
- Assist with social media analytics, performance reporting, and digital communications measurement.
- Communications Operations
- Assist in maintaining communications plans, editorial calendars, project timelines, and department workflows.
- Organize and manage communications assets, media lists, records, and content archives.
- Coordinate meetings, schedules, and other administrative activities.
- Support efforts to monitor media coverage and assist with reporting and evaluating communications performance.
- Provide general support for special projects and other communications initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Recent college graduate or current graduate student in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Work schedule may include weekends and evenings as required by organizational and event needs.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications best practices.
- Familiarity with Canva and other content creation tools.
- Professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information
The term of this position is one year, with the option to extend for a second year.
