About the role

A growing, established Chicago law firm is seeking a Corporate Associate to join its transactional practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, sophisticated transactional work, and a platform where they can continue developing both their legal skills and their own business.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with experienced corporate attorneys advising businesses throughout their entire life cycle — from formation and day-to-day operations through growth, acquisitions, sales and succession planning.
• Take on meaningful ownership of matters and work directly with clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues across corporate, real estate, employment, tax, litigation and other practice areas.
• Develop and grow client relationships and build their own practice.

Requirements

• 3+ years of corporate/transactional experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements.
• M&A and general corporate experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with commercial real estate transactions and/or leasing is a plus.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Collaborative personality and interest in joining a firm for the long term.

Qualifications

• Illinois Bar admission.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Benefits

• Hybrid schedule.
• Manageable 1,800-hour billable requirement.

Pay

$150,000 - $200,000 per year.
