About the role
O’Melveny’s Silicon Valley office is seeking an associate with 2-3 years of experience to join our M&A Practice Group. Our clients range from startups, midsize and large public and private companies to venture capital and private equity investors, and investment banks. We represent them in a broad range of transactions, across a variety of sectors in the technology and life sciences industries.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in a broad range of transactions, across a variety of sectors in the technology and life sciences industries.
- Experience in venture capital and M&A.
- Work with venture financing documents and support M&A and capital markets transactions.
- Draft and negotiate venture financing documents.
- Handle routine corporate requests and establish working relationships with ongoing clients.
- Interface directly and frequently with clients and opposing counsel.
Requirements
- Corporate transactional background.
- Familiarity with formation and continuing representation of technology companies.
- Experience with venture financing documents.
- Experience with M&A transactions.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Exceptional written, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to interface directly and frequently with clients and opposing counsel.
- Comfortable with deal teams, value teamwork and collaboration.
- Background in securities, M&A and venture capital transactions.
Qualifications

Benefits
The salary range in Silicon Valley for this role is $260,000-$310,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting (and excludes target bonus amounts).

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
