What You'll Do
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across assigned corporate accounting areas
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
- Maintain general ledger accounts and investigate unusual activity, discrepancies, and account variances
- Gain exposure across multiple areas of corporate accounting rather than being limited to one narrow function
- Support accounting activities involving areas such as accruals, prepaids, allocations, intercompany activity, and other balance sheet accounts
- Analyze account activity and help identify the underlying drivers behind changes and variances
- Aid in monthly financial and management reporting
- Support internal control and financial reporting requirements within a public-company environment
- Absorb and respond to external audit requests and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with accounting and finance partners across the organization to research and resolve accounting issues
- Participate in process improvements designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and consistency
- Take on additional accounting responsibilities as your knowledge and experience grow
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Approximately 1–3 years of accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and U.S. GAAP
- Experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and/or account reconciliations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with financial data and researching discrepancies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Public accounting experience
- Experience within a large corporate or publicly traded environment
- CPA, CPA candidate, or interest in pursuing CPA certification
- Experience with ERP, consolidation, or account reconciliation systems
- Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and formulas
