Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely HPM financial statements and reporting packages.
- Record and review journal entries, including accruals, intercompany transactions, and allocations.
- Perform monthly general ledger close processes, including account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to management.
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies across all corporate activities.
Corporate Accounting and General Ledger Management
- Maintain and reconcile corporate accounts, including cash, debt, equity, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
- Manage intercompany accounting, ensuring transactions are properly recorded.
- Support equity accounting, including contributions and distributions.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
Cash and Treasury Support
- Assist with corporate cash management, including forecasting and funding requirements.
- Monitor and reconcile corporate bank accounts and support treasury-related activities.
- Cook up funding requests as needed.
Operational Support and Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Property Accounting to ensure intercompany billings are accurately recorded, and that Due From/To balances are reviewed and settled in a timely manner.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries, including leadership and auditors.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.
- Participate in special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
