Corporate Account Manager
Primary Location: Home Based (Texas, Louisiana)
Compensation Range: $160,000 - $180,000 USD base salary. Actual pay within the range depends on work location, skills, experience, and education. Bonuses, benefits, pension contributions, and other incentives are excluded.
About The Position
The Corporate Account Manager is an experienced individual who handles some of Chemtrade’s most important customers (both direct and distribution). They are responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing sales across all Business Units, with primary focus on SPPC products (sulfuric acid, acid regeneration, SHS, sulfides, sulfur, and other products as needed). This role requires skills for developing and maintaining critical customer relationships, understanding market dynamics, recommending and implementing appropriate actions, and some technical knowledge of product applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to understand needs, gain market knowledge, and recommend actions.
- Ensure relationships with key accounts are favorable; take appropriate action if customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of Chemtrade service.
- Independently develop and implement account-specific tactical strategies to exceed contribution/margin plans, focusing on volume, selling price, and freight optimization.
- Develop, analyze, and negotiate sales agreements at strategic accounts with input from management to meet corporate objectives.
- Address customer requests regarding operational problems related directly or indirectly to the use of Chemtrade products.
- Identify new or potential opportunities that add value to current business strategies or fit growth/trade-up strategies.
- Manage sales processes, including customer communication (price change notifications, quotations), territory management, budgeting, forecasting, call reports, and expenses.
- Communicate market conditions affecting business, including competitive activity/pricing, industry knowledge, and environmental issues, to optimize decisions.
- Proactively coordinate with operations, distribution, customer service, technical, and quality functions to resolve customer issues and implement business strategy.
- Coordinate with accounting to keep customer accounts receivable current.
- Analyze cost structure, supply chain, and inventory balance to meet customer requirements, structure new deals, and maximize value.
- Understand all cost components impacting business with the customer and utilize resources optimally to remain within budget.
- Work on projects to develop new business or support existing business alongside the Sales/Marketing Department.
Requirements
- Degree in Business or related field with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in chemical sales and marketing.
- MBA considered a strong asset.
- Valid driver’s license and passport required.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Strong computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office).
