CORE CONTENT TEACHER
Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Core Content Teacher at The Arkansas Juvenile Assessment and Treatment Center (AJATC) in Bryant, Arkansas. AJATC is a secure residential program for at-risk male and female youth, located on 110 acres just outside of Little Rock, AR. Through trained programming for staff, AJATC promotes a normalized high school experience, offers a safe environment, and provides opportunities for positive change, as well as unlimited potential for achievement and growth for students and staff.
About the role
A Teacher will work primarily with students in an educational setting delivering a curriculum of Target Teaching methodologies. You will track student attendance, maintain student grades, prepare lesson plans, and assist as needed in the classroom setting. The Teacher will respond to the needs of students who have a variety of ability levels with proven and efficient school policies and procedures.
Responsibilities

- Respond to the needs of students with varying ability levels
- Facilitate a weekly group session until 4:30 PM
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
- Have an active teacher's certification in 7-12 Core Content Areas (Math, Science, ELA/English, or Social Studies)
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, physical, and TB test
- Able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry
- Must meet the requirements to become an ROP eligible driver, including having a valid Driver's License
Pay
Follows an approved Teacher Pay Scale, starting at $50,000 a year and increasing based on level of education and experience.
Schedule
- Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- 1st, 3rd, and 4th Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM
- Once a week, facilitate a group until 4:30 PM
