Coral Maintenance / Mantenimiento de Corral

Responsibilities

Ensure animals have a clean, dry, and comfortable place to lie down. Cow comfort is paramount to animal well-being and the production of high-quality milk products. Corrals must be maintained daily to maximize cow comfort and minimize poor conditions during inclement weather.

• Clean lots and barns daily or as directed by the manager.
• Maintain and repair all pastures and fencing as needed.
• Check all lots at least twice daily to ensure cows are not under stress due to weather or pen conditions.
• Maintain free-stalls.
• Vacuum or scrape feed alleys at least once daily, or more often if needed.
• Maintain corals and grounds, including pastures and fences.
• Provide sufficient notice to the manager if unable to work scheduled hours to arrange for a substitute.
• Be available to work during emergencies, including vacations or regularly scheduled days off.
• Assist in special projects or routine maintenance of the dairy in coordination with the manager.
