About the role

Our client, a healthcare education organization, is seeking an experienced Copy Editor / Technical Editor to support the review and editing of online continuing education course content on a project-by-project basis. This fully remote freelance opportunity offers the potential for ongoing work for strong performers. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, a strong command of grammar and style, and experience editing long-form educational, technical, or healthcare-related content.

The position is fully remote, freelance and project-based, with assignments typically requiring 2 to 5 hours per project initially and a 2‑week turnaround timeframe. The interview process is informal and focuses on experience, project expectations, and scope. Successful editors may gain access to client systems and confidential medical data while contributing to meaningful educational content.

Responsibilities

• Copy edit and proofread online continuing education course materials for:
  • Clarity
  • Grammar
  • Spelling
  • Punctuation
  • Consistency
  • Style
• Review long-form course content ranging from 10,000 to 20,000+ words
• Ensure content aligns with established editorial standards and AP Style guidelines where applicable
• Identify inconsistencies, formatting issues, and language errors
• Maintain accuracy while editing technical and complex healthcare-related subject matter
• Deliver high-quality work within established project deadlines
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand project expectations and scope

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

• Professional experience as a Copy Editor, Technical Editor, or Proofreader
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong command of grammar, punctuation, and syntax
• Experience editing long-form content
• Ability to manage deadlines and deliver accurate work within 2-week turnaround windows
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Track Changes
