Coordinator, VCU Transform
About the role
The VCU Transform Living-Learning Program’s mission is to equip students to be leaders and change makers in their community by fostering their integrative learning through classroom instruction, reflection, and real-world application in order to strengthen each student’s leadership development, efficacy, and success. The Coordinator for the VCU Transform Living-Learning Program (LLP) plays a key role in advancing the program’s mission to develop students through integrative and experiential learning. This position is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of Transform’s programming, student experience, and administrative operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer administrative oversight of the program, including roster management, completion tracking, and aligning with academic processes.
- Design and facilitate opportunities that integrate classroom learning with reflection and real-world application, supporting students’ leadership development, sense of efficacy, and overall success.
- Provide direct supervision to student leaders, manage program operations, and lead efforts related to recruitment, engagement, assessment, and cross-campus collaboration.
- Occasionally work evenings and weekends to support program activities and events.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
- Bachelor’s degree in higher education, leadership, social sciences, or a related field. Experience coordinating student programs, leadership development initiatives, or living-learning communities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience using Google tools to track departmental workflow. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Knowledge of student development theory and best practices. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for a diverse student population. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Salary Range
$48,000
