Coordinator, Specialized Transportation - 250 Day

About the role

The position is responsible for managing and overseeing programs and services that provide specialized transportation to students of Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS). The incumbent will have thorough knowledge of special education transportation laws and serve as a collaborative partner with the PWCS Special Education Department, Department of Social Services, schools, and student families to implement safe and efficient transportation for students.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a collaborative partner with the PWCS Special Education Department, Department of Social Services, schools, and student families to implement safe and efficient transportation for students.
• Ensure compliance with special education transportation laws and regulations.
• Oversee the coordination and management of transportation services for students with special needs.
• Work closely with schools to develop and maintain transportation plans that meet the unique needs of each student.
• Monitor and evaluate transportation services to ensure they are meeting the needs of students and families.
• Collaborate with other departments within PWCS to address transportation issues and improve service delivery.
