The Role
As a trusted resource for all things People & Culture, you'll help employees navigate questions, keep records accurate and organized, and support key People projects. This position will bring a high level of professionalism and sound judgment, handling confidential and sensitive information with care and discretion. This role is a great fit for someone who manages competing priorities effectively and enjoys creating a great experience for both employees and the People & Culture team, all while helping move impactful projects forward.
Responsibilities
- General Administration
- Responds to employee questions regarding benefits, payroll, policies and procedures
- Ensures appropriate approvals for personnel change requests and enters information into HR systems
- Creates and maintains employee personnel files in HRIS
- Assists with maintaining organization charts and headcount updates
- Affords assistance in releasing announcements, updating pictures and documents and other HR content on the company intranet
- Tracks and processes rewards and recognition awards and supports other employee recognition programs
- Organizes HR department files and materials, new hire inventory, and supplies as needed
- Provides general administrative support to the HR department
- Onboarding/Offboarding
- Coordinates background checks, drug screens, new hire paperwork, coordinating with IT for company equipment setup and I-9 verification
- Covers the new hire on-boarding process from file creation to orientation
- Prepares materials and oversees new hire orientation
- Conducts new hire check-in sessions to include providing Company policy and benefits overview and ensuring proper completion of new hire paperwork
- Oversees the onboarding survey for new hires and conducts quarterly
- Assists with scheduling exit interviews and coordinates off-boarding notices and documents and action items as needed
- Talent Acquisition
- Provide TA support as needed (job posting in ATS, offer letter creation, PCF creation, etc.)
- Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Prepare HR reports and metrics as required, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making
- Payroll Support
- Aid payroll activities and reporting
- Assist with cutting final paychecks as needed
- Is the point of contact for final check coordination (liaison between manager and payroll)
- Aid payroll and HR audits as needed
- HR Team and Project Support
- Oversee PO’s and invoice processing
- Support Team Thrive and employee engagement activities
- Support ongoing HR projects such as and not limited to: SharePoint updates, policy assignments where applicable, process improvements, summer internship program, data clean up in HRIS, data management in HRIS, etc.
Requirements
- Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 2+ years of relevant HR experience required, including data entry, and supporting other HR functions strongly preferred.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive employee information.
- Knowledge Of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.

- Education

- The current hourly range for this hybrid position (3x/week in-office) based in Jersey City, New Jersey is $35.20/hr - $38.47/hr.
- This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
