Coordinator Pathology Point of Care - Full Time Days

About the role

Working independently under the direction of the Pathology Point of Care Supervisor, the Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for development and oversight of an integrated system for all Point of Care Testing (POCT), including satellite locations, at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Working with clinical personnel, test-site managers, distributors, and vendors, the POCT Coordinator assists the POCT Supervisor to oversee the selection and implementation of standardized procedures, policies, methods, training, competency standards, and competency assessment tools associated with POCT.

Working with Information Technology, Billing, Laboratory Information System technical support, and POCT device manufacturers, the POCT Coordinator will assist in developing and maintaining an integrated information management system using standardized testing devices and data management systems for POCT.

Works with test site managers to ensure adequate documentation and compliance with CAP, Joint Commission, and CLIA '88 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee an integrated system for all Point of Care Testing (POCT) across Moffitt Cancer Center, including satellite locations.
• Assist in selecting and implementing standardized procedures, policies, methods, training, competency standards, and assessment tools for POCT.
• Collaborate with IT, Billing, and technical support teams to develop and maintain an integrated information management system for POCT.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, Joint Commission, and CLIA '88 regulations through adequate documentation and coordination with test site managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
• Licensed Clinical Lab Technologist (MT/TN) with Chemistry & Hematology specialties required.
• Strong working knowledge of laboratory and Federal regulations as they apply to Point of Care Testing.
• Ability to learn and navigate mainframe hospital and lab computer programs.
• Excellent prioritization, multi-tasking, and project completion skills.
• Experience working in a customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification preferred.

Pay

Salary Range: $63,377.60 - $96,699.20. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
