Position Summary
The Coordinator of Elementary Counseling, Education, Training and Development supports the implementation of an ASCA-aligned system of tiered supports focused on elementary student emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. This role supports elementary counselors and deans through training, coaching, data analysis, and implementation support to improve student outcomes and reduce barriers to learning.
Counseling Training and Professional Development
- Facilitates and creates professional development systems, structures, or training in an educational setting
- Supports counseling program implementation
- Assists schools in using data-informed practices aligned with district goals and ASCA standards
Counseling Program Support
- Develops and delivers professional development
- Supports counselor guidance effectiveness
- Collaborates with MTSS and student support teams
- Provides school counseling coaching and consultative support
- Develops and manages counseling resources and programs
Data Analysis and Counselor Guidance Effectiveness Support
- Collects and analyzes data from multiple sources to support counseling effectiveness and student outcomes
MTSS and Student Support Collaboration
- Collaborates with school counselors, district teams, and school leaders
Education Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling or counseling-related field
- Two (2) years of experience facilitating professional development systems, structures, or training in an educational setting
- Two (2) years of experience creating and implementing training
- Experience leading, coaching, or training teams in an educational setting preferred
- Certified School Counselor or Licensed, eligible Therapist preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Spanish speaking preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Ability to facilitate collaborative team processes across disciplines
- Knowledge of TPS policies and procedures as well as campus and community resource availability
- Working knowledge of ASCA guidelines for delivering an effective counseling program and commitment to aligning work responsibilities with those guidelines
- Knowledge of best practices and research-based programs supporting emotional, behavioral, mental health, and social service needs
- Knowledge of state, local, and federal laws impacting student services, confidentiality, child abuse, and neglect reporting
- Ability to collect and analyze data from multiple sources to support counseling effectiveness and student outcomes
- Experience as a qualified observer with demonstrated ability to provide constructive, growth-focused feedback
- Expertise in training, coaching, and supporting teams and individuals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organizes and facilitates meetings in a professional manner
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Works collaboratively with school staff, district teams, and community partners
- Remains flexible and solution-oriented while adapting to changing needs and priorities
- Performs well under stress and responds appropriately in emergency or high-stress situations
