About the role
The Coordinator of CDL Driver Training Program oversees the daily operations of the CDL training program, including instruction, scheduling classes, and ensuring compliance with DOT and college policies.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the CDL training program, including instruction and scheduling classes
- Maintaining compliance with DOT and college policies
- Auxiliary support in curriculum planning, monitoring student progress and performance, and managing third-party testing schedules
- Maintenance of accurate program records and communication with students and prospective applicants
- Collaboration with internal departments and external partners to promote the program
- Contributing to program improvement, supporting safety initiatives, and assisting students with CDL Class A testing and employment preparation
Requirements
- Minimum of two years commercial driving expertise, including CDL Class A and practical Truck Driving experience
- Operational skills related to Truck operation, including manual transmission experience, proficient backing ability, and safety practices
- Strong knowledge of DOT Regulations and compliance requirements for commercial driver training programs
- Ability to coordinate training schedules, manage resources, and maintain accurate documentation
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, instructors, and industry partners
- Previous experience in driver training, transportation, or related education programs preferred
- An acceptable driving record
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary education or relevant certifications in transportation or education are beneficial
