Coordinator of Autism

Qualifications

• Hold valid New Jersey Supervision Certificate (preferred).
• Hold valid New Jersey Certificate of Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities with content endorsement.
• Hold a master's degree from an accredited University, Bachelor's Degree, or advanced coursework in Special Education.
• At least 5 years' experience as a Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities with content endorsement.
• Knowledgeable of N.J.A.C. 6A:14, Special Education Code, Laws, and Procedures.
• Effective communicator who can provide professional development to Autism teachers in Discrete Trial and Behavior Management.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Ability to interpret and assist classroom teachers with the analysis of data.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, administrators, and the community.
• Demonstrate effective problem solving, communications, organization, planning, record keeping, and human relations skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, administrators, and others.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
