About the Role

The Materials Coordinator will perform a variety of duties related to warehousing and outbound shipping. With minimal supervision, a successful Materials Coordinator will manage inventory, pick, process, and ship material per shipping schedule. The role requires proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IFS, and other pertinent programs. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, a natural troubleshooter, able to react quickly under pressure, and manage several tasks concurrently while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and execute outbound shipment processing for both internal and external customers through the HUSCO ERP system (IFS), adhering to customer-specific requirements and helping establish processes for new customers.
- Schedule regular outbound shipments and coordinate expedited shipments.
- Complete data entry tasks with minimal supervision, including processing outbound shipments, sending return dunnage with proper paperwork, processing internal stores requisitions, and assisting in scrap and MRO purchases as needed.
- Prepare production control reports and spreadsheets, such as monitoring backflush to ensure correct inventory, compiling weekly pick lists for Inventory Control, reviewing receiving and shipping reports, and assisting with cycle counts, finished goods counts, and WIP count spreadsheets.
- Assist in shipment preparation and picking functions, including preparing, loading, unloading, and organizing finished goods and raw materials around the plant.
- Support warehouse picking and storage for the secondary plant, drive and load/unload box trucks for intercompany runs, and assist in unloading and receiving inventory into the HUSCO ERP system.
- Meet all quality and safety requirements of the company and industry.
- Train additional team members upon gaining experience in the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility with administrative training.
- Working knowledge of TS16949/ISO 9000 preferred.
- Strong data entry skills with above-average attention to detail.
- Effective time-management and organizational skills.
- Good judgment, common sense, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple varied tasks that contribute to company effectiveness and quality.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to learn and operate a forklift; prior forklift experience encouraged but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in box truck backing and docking or willingness to learn.
Physical Activities
- Work in both shop and office environments, with the following typical distribution: drive (30%), sit (30%), stand or walk (30%), squat, kneel, or twist (8%), and drive for errands (2%).
- Lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs. at times.
- Repetitive use of hands for fine manipulation, including data input, writing, mouse use, and phone dialing.
- Clear and audible speech for phone duties.
- Excellent visual acuity for number and depth perception, reading computer printouts, and spreadsheet applications.
- Overtime as required.
- Total awareness of plant environment for safety of employees, equipment operation, material handling, and visitors.
