About the Role
The Coordinator - Emergency Management Exercise Planning and Development is responsible for coordinating projects within the Security Division and property-wide initiatives related to Emergency Preparedness, with a focus on developing Emergency Preparedness exercises.
Responsibilities
- Reviews, develops, and implements comprehensive operational response and recovery efforts as well as continuity plans to prepare for and manage crises/emergencies.
- Develops and facilitates reality-based scenarios and table-top exercises involving the company’s decision makers and key personnel.
- Manages the Security Department’s notification system and ensures the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is maintained and operational.
- Ensures on-site Security team members are trained in activating the EOC.
- Liaises with Security Training Section personnel, property Fire Command Center, company Safety Director, Security leadership, and external partners (e.g., hospitality industry, local/federal government).
- Develops and administers approved training for Team Members and assists in creating property-wide Emergency Operations Plans and exercises.
- Collaborates with internal and external teams to ensure comprehensive emergency management planning.
- Develops and maintains policies and reports.
- Creates and executes site-specific preparedness plans, exercises, and Emergency Response trainings.
- Reviews and analyzes emergency management plans and procedures, making recommendations for revisions.
- Ensures preparedness through equipment, supplies, staff, and facility availability.
- Develops educational and community outreach programs in collaboration with organizations and groups.
- Prepares, coordinates, executes, and assesses After Action Reports (AAR) for continuous improvement.
- Provides recommendations to address emergency readiness and safety protocol concerns.
- Updates existing programs/processes and coordinates workload to meet deadlines.
- Maintains professional skills through training and stays current with industry developments.
- Communicates policy/procedure changes and pertinent information to staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, with safety as an essential function of the role.
Requirements
- 21 years of age or older.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other required certifications/licenses.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three years in a lead or supervisory role; progressively responsible experience preferred.
- Experience in emergency management exercise development and training is preferred.
- Courses or certifications related to professional emergency response are desired.
- Experience in security within a hotel/hospitality environment or emergency services is a plus.
- Knowledge of FEMA emergency management protocols; ability to obtain IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 certifications within one year of hire.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Ability to facilitate exercises in front of large groups and work varied shifts (nights, weekends, holidays).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to interact effectively with guests, management, and team members.
