About the role
Queens Hospital Center is dedicated to providing quality healthcare services in southeastern and central Queens. Established in 2002, the hospital features a 261-bed facility including the Queens Cancer Center, the first comprehensive cancer treatment center in the borough.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Promotes joint patient and management objectives by consulting with medical and professional staff of other departments and staff from associated health care fields.
- Serves as a liaison between the Department of Medical Services and other administrative divisions.
- Supervises and develops administrative and training programs for health service programs.
- Allocates staff based on workload, space, and available equipment.
- Coordinates research projects and conducts special studies to evaluate rehabilitative programs and improve departmental operations.
- Manages the processing of orders for equipment, prosthetics, and medical supplies.
- Consults with medical, nursing, and other staff to clarify ambiguities and secure necessary certifications and verifications.
- Analyzes patient records with clinical staff to ensure consistency with reimbursement formulas.
- Maintains compliance policies and procedures.
- Supervises office administration and record keeping activities.
- Manages employee supervision, performance, and development.
- Prepares and publishes operational manuals and procedures.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or Rehabilitation Counseling, with one (1) year of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in “1”, with two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment.
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience, in which each year of relevant training and/or experience can be substituted for 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university.
