Coordinating Engineer- Accident Reconstruction

Responsibilities

  • Provide project support to accident reconstruction experts conducting investigating and analyses of passenger and commercial vehicle collisions.
  • Participate in site, vehicle, and commercial truck inspections, observing the expert documenting physical evidence.
  • Learn how to utilize 3D laser scanning technology to capture and preserve physical evidence from vehicles and crash scenes.
  • Assist in researching, reconstructing, and analyzing collision events by evaluating all relevant data and facts.
  • Observe the lifecycle of an accident reconstruction case – from the initial investigation and digital preservation of the evidence, to performing testing, writing expert reports, preparing for depositions, exhibit preparations and trial testimony.
  • Support the reconstruction team in data collection and analysis for publication in technical journals.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative research methodologies for publication.
  • Observe and gradually participate in delivering technical presentations and lectures on accident reconstruction to a variety of audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accident reconstruction, forensic engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accident reconstruction techniques and principles.
  • Experience with 3D laser scanning technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Pay

  • $60,000 - $70,000 annually.
