About the role
Coordinated Specialty Care for First Episode Psychosis (STEP) is an early intensive intervention program for adolescents and young adults recently diagnosed with a mental health condition involving psychosis. The program aims to reduce the duration of untreated symptoms and improve outcomes such as the ability to work, attend school, live independently, and maintain enjoyable relationships. This is achieved through intensive direct services, coordination, support, and linkage to positively impact clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide team leadership and oversight of clinical programming and individual clinical care.
- Deliver direct care to center clients and assist in overseeing the implementation and delivery of the STEP program and other projects.
- Support team clinical staffings, trainings, and meetings.
- Provide clinical supervision to the team and direct clinical services, including advanced individual and group therapy.
- Complete diagnostic evaluations and comprehensive treatment plans.
- Facilitate emergency and mental health assessments.
- Monitor clinical admission and discharge criteria.
- Authorize and maintain intervention/case management services.
- Assist the CSC Team in clinical service delivery.
- Identify problem/need areas and work under pressure in stressful situations professionally.
- Conduct thorough assessments and documentation.
- Locate and utilize community resources to meet individual needs.
- Negotiate and advocate for clients with external service entities.
- Develop positive relationships with each consumer.
- Serve as a Crisis Supervisor monthly and be scheduled on the Crisis calendar.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social, behavioral, or human services.
- Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA), such as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMSW; LMFT-A or LPC-A also accepted.
- Experience in mental health, intellectual, and developmental disabilities services preferred.
- Experience in supported employment and/or supported housing services preferred.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurable driving record (driving is an essential function).
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility for non-traditional work hours as needed.
