Coop Students - I&C / M&R / Electrical-7

These positions are Co-op Students in the Maintenance department at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an environment conducive to personnel, plant, and public safety.
• Employ a high standard of quality in work performed.
• Assist in the safe performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
• Adhere to procedures and guidelines.
• Report to work with the right attitude and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Promote teamwork and be open and responsive to new ideas.
• Work around energized (mostly low voltage) and in-service plant equipment.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a two-year degree program (Instrument and Control, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical) with at least two semesters completed satisfactorily.
• Self-starter with a driven attitude.
• Good technical writing skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Basic PC skills.
• Professional work ethic.
• Strong desire to learn and ability to acquire new skills.
• Able to apply knowledge to new situations.
• Confidence in decision-making; asks for directions when unsure.
• Ability to adapt and excel in a strict compliance-based environment.

Physical/Mental Demands & Working Conditions

• Occasional long/irregular hours.
• Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs; occasional climbing with body harness.
• Both indoor and outdoor industrial settings.
• Use of a computer terminal and/or telephone.
